"Letter As Image" Opening Stuffs Society of Illustrators Silly

We had a nice chat yesterday with good Friend of the Un Harold Huttas as he attempted to navigate the East Village via cab. The owner and curator of LA’s Harold’s Gallery just took his first show on the road–all the way to New York City. “Letter As Image / Image As Letter” opened at the Society of Illustrators Thursday night with a ginormous turnout.

Perhaps the show’s popularity lies in its ability to take extremely recognizable lettering and signage and, by gathering it in this way, transform the everyday into works of art.
