Layoffs At WNET.org (NYC PBS)

Not even public media is immune: cuts in corporate sponsorships and declining donations have led WNET.org to lay off 50 staffers.

WNET.org is the parent company of WNET Channel 13 and WLIW Channel 21, the most-watched and the third-most-watched public television channels in the nation, respectively. Yet these cuts come just five months after 80 people lost their jobs in January, the New York Daily News reported.
