Layoffs At The Houston Chronicle

Six months ago the Houston Chronicle was forced to eliminate 80 full-time employees. Publisher and President Jack Sweeney cited declining revenue and increases in print costs. Now, the Chronicle is facing an even larger reduction. In a reorganization that is set to take place over the next 60 days, the paper will shed 10 percent of its workforce.

In a letter to the company, obtained by the Houston Business Journal, Sweeny states that the company will also be looking into other cost saving initiatives.
