LAT Editorial Page Literary Forensics
Do you know many people who use the expression “popped [his/her] cork”? Me neither. So the phrase caught my eye in today’s unsigned LAT editorial slamming Bill O’Reilly for cordially suggesting on his radio show that Michael Kinsley might benefit from having his head cut off. (“And maybe when the blade sinks in, he’ll go, ‘Perhaps O’Reilly was right.'”)
Anyway, back to cork-popping. From today’s editorial:
