Las Vegas Dailies Remain Joined at the Strip Hip

The Las Vegas Review-Journal and Las Vegas Sun newspapers are bound by a joint operating agreement set to run through 2040. The former’s parent company, Stephens Media, prints and distributes the latter’s daily hard copy edition, which was drastically downsized and re-bundled back in 2005.

The website numbers for the two publications are currently in keeping with their respective print statuses. However, per an interesting look at the conjoined arrangement by NetNewsCheck reporter Meg Heckman, the approach each paper is using to maintain and increase their digital presence differs:

The Review-Journal’s website averaged 963,000 unique visitors during a four-month period last year, compared to the 498,250 lasvegassun.com
