Lady Gaga Isn't Sexy
Noted American cultural critic Camille Paglia wrote an interesting at times, but rather bizarre deconstruction of Lady Gaga for the Sunday Times of London. Paglia’s got some good points about Gaga’s outsider identity being a complete construction–considering Gaga went to prep school with the Hiltons–but despite several hundred words of intellectualization on the matter, the point of Paglia’s piece seems to be that she personally doesn’t find Gaga sexy.
Despite showing acres of pallid flesh in the fetish-bondage garb of urban prostitution, Gaga isn’t sexy at all — she’s like a gangly marionette or plasticised android.
