Keith Kelly knows big words

Newly-appointed NYT public editor Byron “Barney” Calame has already run afoul of the Post’s Keith Kelly, who accuses him of “obfuscating and stonewalling” in today’s Media Ink.

Apparently Kelly called Calame to confirm the as-yet-unannounced appointment “only hours before the Times would rush out a press release to avoid getting scooped on its own announcement.” In the spirit of the NYT’s usual ostentatious display of openness, Calame declined to comment either way.
