Every Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m., Chris Douridas reminds listeners that he still possesses one of the greatest dulcet-tone DJ voices to ever grace the airwaves of KCRW-FM. His soothing, cadenced set summaries and about-town observations go hand-in-hand with a musical vibe that is as smooth as a Malibu sunset.
So it was quite jarring to hear the accomplished soundtrack and iTunes consultant, halfway through his December 18th show, transition to some uncommon news in typical, mellow fashion.
