National Review Editor-at-Large Tweeting from Locked Down New Jersey Mall

Kathryn Jean Lopez, the nationally syndicated Conservative columnist and editor-at-large for the National Review, is among those trapped inside the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, New Jersey. Via Twitter, she has shared the following photo of the scene as law enforcement officials try to track down a reported shooter.

Lopez and these pictured shoppers are hunkered in a corner of Nordstrom. She has noted how surreal it is that music is still playing through the department store.

The confusing and sometimes conflicting streams of information during the early portion of such an event are even more difficult to tolerate when you’re in the middle of it all.

Update (November 5):
After it was all over, Lopez tweeted “All things considered I prefer livetweeting homilies, what I often do on twitter #paramus.”
