Essence magazine has promoted Karen Williams to the position of vice president of sales and marketing. She will be in charge of integrating the sales and marketing teams across the magazine, Essence.com and branded events.
Williams has been with Essence since April 2007, where she most recently worked as associate publisher, marketing. She has also worked as the vice president of integrated marketing and promotions for the ABC Family network and as the executive director, integrated marketing and promotions for ABC. On the magazine front, Williams was once the director of licensing for Hearst Magazines Brand Development.
