Journalist Arrested at The Sun as News Corp. Scandal Spreads

A journalist who worked for News International’s The Sun has been arrested, suggesting that the phone hacking scandal wasn’t restricted within the confines of News of The World.

The New York Times reports that the 48-year-old suspect — identified as Jamie Pyatt, the District Editor of The Sun — was arrested “in connection with allegations of corruption,” according to British investigators.

Pyatt had been with the Sun for over 20 years, and is the first employee outside of News of The World to be arrested for allegedly being associated with the scandal.

This is obviously bad news for News International and News Corporation.
