Job Openings Rate Highest In 11 Months

In another positive sign for the economy, the job openings rate in January rose to 2.1 percent, the highest rate since February 2009.

Actual openings increased by 200,000, mostly in education and health services; however, professional/business services saw a 25,000 increase in openings as well.

Meanwhile, turnover has ground to a standstill: people are not quitting their jobs for any reasons, and layoffs have slowed.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics also released its revised data for job openings in all of 2009.
