Jill Abramson's Commencement Speech Still Set for Wake Forest University

graduation capWe originally wanted to write a post about inspirational commencement speeches but figured that can always be accomplished next week.

During our search we discovered that Jill Abramson, ousted New York Times executive editor, is still set to give the commencement address at Wake Forest University.

Although publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. officially cited “an issue with management in the newsroom,” we can only wonder what she’ll share in her speech. Abramson hasn’t publicly commented yet but per the Triad Business Journal, the school’s president reached out to let her know they would still like her to speak and in turn, she confirmed she still plans on giving her speech.

The president mentioned in a news release, “I cannot think of a better message for the Class of 2014 than that of resilience.”
