Jeremy Hobson Officially Takes Over <em>Marketplace Morning Report</em> Spot

It's official. Jeremy Hobson is the new host of American Public Media's "Marketplace Morning Report," where he'll be joining Steve Chiotakis. Hobson had been hosting the show in an unofficial capacity since October 2010, with the departure of Bill Radke. Prior to stepping in for Radke, Hobson had worked as a reporter for Marketplace in New York and D.C. since 2007, filing stories and features on Wall Street's greater impact on Main Street. Marketplace's morning newscast is broadcast to over 400 stations throughout the country and reaches 5 million listeners. Press release after the jump: (Los Angeles, CA) – January 13, 2011 – Jeremy Hobson has been named a host of American Public Media’s signature morning business newscast, Marketplace Morning Report. The Morning Report airs across the nation on over 400 public radio stations, offering listeners a fresh look at business news from a global perspective. Hobson will now officially join Steve Chiotakis as a Marketplace Morning Report host. He had been serving as an interim host since October 2010, when former host Bill Radke returned to his hometown of Seattle. Hobson has been with American Public Media since 2007, reporting for Marketplace from its New York and Washington D.C. bureaus and filing daily stories, features and interviews on the financial markets and on Wall Street’s impact on ordinary Americans. “I’m thrilled at the opportunity to host the Marketplace Morning Report”, says Hobson. “The show’s mission -- breaking down the complex business stories of the day so we can actually understand them -- is more important now than it has ever been.” Hobson continues, “I’ve been in public radio since I was nine years old, and Marketplace is everything I’ve always loved about this unique medium.
