IBM Super Computer Wins Jeopardy! Practice Round
Any successful contestant on the syndicated game show Jeopardy! will attest that half the winning battle has nothing to do with intellect. Rather, it’s all about buzzer technique.
So it seems a little unfair that Watson, a computer developed by IBM to play the TV game show, gets to activate a “mechanical [buzzer] button” whenever it is ready to share an answer in the form of a question. That extra nanosecond or two can make all the difference.
