Jeanne Gang Among New Crop of MacArthur Fellows

Chicago-based architect Jeanne Gang is among the 22 new fellows of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Announced today, the 2011 cohort of MacArthur Fellows—selected for “their creativity, originality, and potential to make important contributions in the future”—also includes silversmith Ubaldo Vitali, poets Kay Ryan and A. E. Stallings, Sino-fascinating writer Peter Hessler, WNYC Radio host and producer Jad Abumrad, and University of Washington professor Shwetak Patel, a computer scientist who has invented a series of energy-saving, life-improving sensor technology systems for home environments.
