NYC Waiter Confirms Identity of 'Tips for Jesus' Do-Gooder

It makes sense that the person responsible for the Instagram account Tips for Jesus used to be involved with PayPal. Because when you strip down the gargantuan restaurant gratuity initiative to its simplest elements, it’s just another payment-flow mechanism.

After the mysterious big tipper recently hit Manhattan, and as first sussed out by Valleywag’s Sam Biddle, the New York Post appears to have let the cat completely out of the bag:

The generous restaurant-goer left one lucky server at NoMad in the Flatiron District a $7,000 tip over the weekend, while another at The Smith near Lincoln Center got $3,500 and a waiter at Bo’s Kitchen in Chelsea raked in $1,000.
