Indie King Bingham Back in Business

Bingham Ray, the indie king who co-created October Films and later ran United Artists, is rearing his head one more time as President of Creative Affairs for Sidney Kimmel Entertainment. Ray was brought into SKE last in April, 2007, after leaving United Artists as its President.

Kimmel, the schmatta maven who decided he wanted to pour a few tens of millions into the filmmaking business, has kept SKE alive. But he’s cutting back these days.

Ray, an implant at festivals such as Cannes, Telluride, Sundance, New York and Toronto, will be responsible for roughly two or three films a year.
