Yaosh Ho is joining The Huffington Post as its new head of business development. Ho comes to the site from Google, where he created deals involving YouTube, Google Wallet and more.
Ho’s duties at HuffPost will be similar to those he performed while at Google. Jimmy Maymann, CEO of HuffPost Media Group, called Ho a “superb addition to our team.”
Below is Maymann’s complete memo to staffers.
I’d like to welcome Yaosh Ho, who is joining us today as our new Head of Business Development.
Yaosh comes to us from Google, where he led deals across YouTube, Google Books, Google Wallet, and even created a fiber optic network in Uganda. He also worked at the Associated Press, where he developed AP’s Digital Collective and its Podcast product. He was also a Technical Product Manager at Elance and a software consultant at Annams Systems.
Yaosh has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Masters in Computer Science from Stanford University, and a BA in Computer Science from UC Berkeley. He has also filed two internet patents, holds multiple Google AdWords certifications, and passed the Foreign Service Officer Test.
In short, he will be a superb addition to our team. Please join me in welcoming Yaosh.
