Huffington Post Expands Staff

The Huffington Post has added six new names to its (paid) reporting roster.

Maura Egan, of the New York Times, will be HuffPo’s deputy entertainment, culture and lifestyle editor while Radley Balko, formerly of Reason, will cover criminal justice.

Rebecca Carroll has been named “Culture editor of black voices.” Amanda Millner-Fairbanks, from GOOD, will cover education; The Miami Herald’s Jaweed Kaleem will cover religion, and Christopher Spurlock joins as infographic design editor.

Anyone made the obligatory “Huffington Poach” joke yet?

Since AOL and the Huffington Post joined forces, HuffPo has hired 23 new journalists.
