In honor of Memorial Day, we thought we’d use at least one post today to talk about something related to the military. That thing? Kilroy Was Here. You’re probably familiar with the little guy, peeking over the wall, with just the writing, of course, “Kilroy Was Here.” We’ve seen it a billion times, and knew it had something to do with World War II, but we never really knew what it meant. So, blessed be the internet, we found a site that has everything to do with the sneaky little fella. It’s a great batch of information about the phenomenon, including speculation on how it all got started. So if you think Shepard Fairey‘s Andre the Giant stickers appearing everywhere was the first time that sort of thing happened, think again. “The greatest generation” had us beat by a long shot.
