THR.com's Joseph Kapsch Headed to Celebuzz.com

We told you earlier this month about Dylan Howard moving from Star magazine and Radar Online to celebuzz.com as the BUZZMEDIA site's new editor-in-chief. At the time, Howard promised he would be “hiring some of the best journalists in our beat over the coming weeks.” The first hire is a good one. Relocating within a few weeks from LA to New York as celebuzz.com's incoming executive editor will be Joseph Kapsch (pictured), currently the editor of THR.com. One of the reasons for the move is that it will allow Kapsch to be closer to family. Here's what Kapsch posted on his Facebook page: SOME EXCITING/BREAKING PERSONAL NEWS: So most of you that know me well know that I've always said when the right time and opportunity arrived I would eventually head back to New York. Well, that time has arrived: Today, I accepted a new opportunity with BUZZMEDIA in New York as the executive editor, Celebuzz. Obviously, this decision wasn't arrived at lightly and it's bittersweet for a few reasons: Namely, I will really miss my rock star THR.com team, THR colleagues and my boss and media idol Janice Min whom I've learned so much from and leave THR an even stronger editor/manager as a result of her mentorship. This past year has been an invaluable experience in so many ways, but I know in my heart that this is the right move at this time for me personally and professionally and I look forward to the future. I'll be wrapping up at The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, May 11 and heading back to New York the first week of June. Formal PR announcement forthcoming (as well as going-away party details!) That speaks volumes. He was totally bit by the bug of how exciting the future is at Celebuzz and BUZZMEDIA." “Joseph’s experience and knowledge -- from his past positions at THR, to Access Hollywood, Los Angeles Times and Zap2it -- are precisely what we need in order to grow our editorial division in New York.
