Layoffs Hit Hollywood Reporter, Billboard Magazine

Ten staffers let go from The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard.

While our sister publications The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard continue to experience digital growth, the titles are seeing a realignment of resources today. FishbowlNY has learned 10 people, including four editorial staffers from the print side of the magazines, have been laid off.

At The Hollywood Reporter, senior editor Alex Ben Block and film reporter Tim Appelo are among the cuts; at Billboard, correspondent Phil Gallo and editor-at-large Joe Levy are out.

Levy was passed over for the editor-in-chief job, which went to Tony Gervino last year.
