New York Times Looms Large at Hofstra Summer Journalism Workshop

High School Summer Journalism Institute field trips don't get much better than this.

For the ten Nassau County high school students who took part in Hofstra University’s recent High School Summer Journalism Institute (July 5-15), much was learned.

And per a report in community newspaper the Long Island Herald, the highlight was a field trip:

Participants visited The New York Times. Associate editor Richard Jones led a nearly two-hour tour of what many consider to be among the world’s finest print publications.

“Going to The New York Times was one of the highlights because the building was beautiful,” Elmont Memorial senior Rex Asabor said.
