hfmus03.03.09.gifJust a day after announcing a host of changes to its women’s magazine group, Hachette Filipacchi Media U.S. is making another large structural change.

Philippe Guelton, the company’s chief operating officer, will helm a new group in charge of cross-company operations. Specifically, Guelton will oversee corporate development, digital media, corporate sales & marketing, information technology, consumer marketing & manufacturing and procurement. He will also remain in charge of the men’s advertising group. Here’s hoping he has a clone.

“This centralization will optimize efficiencies and the performance of the company’s internal functions and will propel reinvestment in both internal and external growth,” Alain Lemarchand, the company’s president & CEO, said in a statement.

The release didn’t mention any job losses, but you have to think that announcement prominently featuring the world “centralization” will result in at least a few cuts.
