Getting Along With Coworkers Prolongs Life, Study Finds

People who have a “peer support system” at work may live longer than those who don’t, a new study finds.

But being friends with the boss doesn’t affect your lifespan (as much as you might feel it does), the study said.

Tel Aviv University researchers followed 820 adults from 1998 to 2008, looking at their medical records and asking them questions about workplace demands and whether their co-workers “were helpful in solving problems and … were friendly.”

The workers who responded yes to the coworker support questions were healthier and lived longer.
