GE CEO On New York Post NBCU Sale Story: 'Made-Up Stupid Drivel'

“That was more or less made-up stupid drivel,” says General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt about a story in Wednesday’s New York Post, which speculates that he is considering a sale or spin-off of NBC Universal.

The “more or less” part is intriguing, considering NBCU “more or less” laid off 700 employees last fall.

By the way, Immelt made the comment Wednesday afternoon to 400 NBCU employees in Rock Center’s Studio 8H (where SNL is taped) who gathered to welcome Jeff Zucker as their new CEO and to honor outgoing head Bob Wright.
