Gawker Losing West Coast Editor Richard Rushfield

Richard Rushfield quit his job as Entertainment Editor of the LA Times website just four months ago to join Gawker. Now he’s moving on again, this time to become an editorial consultant for a new online venture called Digital Entertainment Corporation of America. According to The Wrap, DECA is:

…a Santa Monica-based online startup founded by Michael Wayne and Chris Kimbell, a pair of ex-Sony Pictures executives.

Deca launched in 2007 with about $5 million in venture capital and the lofty goal of creating “a new model for the online entertainment experience” by “identifying, funding, marketing and distributing next-generation digital content.”
