Gaming Magazine Becomes Latest Ziff Davis Casualty

Electronic Gaming Monthly, a bible for many in the gaming community, will cease to exist in print after its January 2009 issue. The news comes as part of a deal that involves struggling Ziff Davis Media selling its 1Up.com group of Web sites to UGO Entertainment. When the latter company decided not to purchase EGM, Ziff Davis made the decision to shut it down.

Thirty people lost their jobs as a result of the sale and shuttering.
