FT Names Chief Data Officer

Tom Betts is the first to fill the new role.

The Financial Times has named Tom Betts chief data officer, a new role at the company. As part of the promotion, Betts will now serve on the FT’s board.

Betts previously served as the FT’s vp of customer analytics and research. He has been with the FT since 2009.

“I am delighted to welcome Tom to the FT executive board in recognition of the contribution data insight brings to the FT’s performance and success,” said the FT’s CEO, John Ridding, in an announcement.
