There’s an intriguing timeline detail in today’s Washington Post report about the decision by civil rights non-profit group the Fritz Pollard Alliance to go strategically public, on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with regards to the group’s efforts to broker a Washington Redskins team name change.

According to the article by Mark Maske and John Woodrow Cox, the group endured a contentious August meeting at Redskins training camp, mainly because of the objections and interruptions of one participant.
