For Fred Tomaselli, this weekend’s personal headline is a good one: “Orange County Kid Makes Good.” New York-based since the mid-1980s, the artist has returned home to Southern California for an exhibition of his famous enhancements of New York Times front pages.

Fred Tomaselli: The Times is the artist’s first West Coast museum exhibition. Born in Santa Monica, raised in Santa Ana and a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, Tomaselli now lives and works in New York, where he has built a reputation for his vibrant and intricate painting technique.
