Frank Gehry Gets Quoted Without Ever Speaking

Starting off with a strange little bit of strange to kick off this back-to-school day, it’s being reported that starchitect Frank Gehry has been removed from the project to build the new Theater for the New Audience in Brooklyn. But where it gets weird is in the announcement that Gehry was no longer involved with the project, there were quotes including from the architect saying why he was leaving. But it turns out that Gehry hadn’t heard a thing about being dropped and when Robin Pogrebin from the NY Times called Gehry to get confirmation, it was the first he’d been made aware of the change, meaning he certainly didn’t offer up those original quotes.
