Matt Buchanan, formerly co-editor of The Awl, has joined Eater as features editor. Buchanan left The Awl in February.
Buchanan previously worked for The New Yorker, BuzzFeed and Gizmodo.
“Expect all kinds of compelling, thought-provoking, enraging, and downright silly and ridiculous writing in the weeks and months to come,” wrote Eater editor in chief, Amanda Kludt, in an announcement.
In related Eater news, associate features editor Meghan McCarron has been named senior features editor.
