Forget Cable! Roger Ailes to Own Local Paper

Here’s one way to support your local news. Roger Ailes, chairman of Fox News, reportedly liked his local paper The Putnam County News and Recorder circulation 3,000, so much that he bought it. (One can only hope that in the coming months Michael Bloomberg will suffer the same affliction). Apparently the Ailes family has recently built a home in the area and has “always enjoyed reading the local paper.”

However, fear not Putnam fans, Ailes’ wife Elizabeth is assuring readers they should not expect any change in the paper’s ideological tone ( presumably this includes any questionable photoshopping tactics): “We bought it not to change it, but perhaps it will evolve over time.”
