The Financial Times has named Richard McGregor as the paper’s new Washington bureau chief, a role that finds him overseeing its coverage of politics and its DC-based reporters. The FT‘s former Washington bureau chief, Edward Luce, took leave to work on a book.

McGregor is currently the paper’s deputy news editor in London, but will move to DC on January 3rd for his new job.
