Finally, Richard Florida Says You Can Move to Florida

The head of the Creative Class, Richard Florida, continues to pick apart the reasons why society’s most innovative citizens (that’s you) live the places they do. According to this article, in 2004, the most creative-friendly US cities were Austin, San Francisco and Seattle. But what a difference two years makes. BusinessWeek has another article, “Slicker Cities,” featuring Florida, that never names a single one of the 2004’s top three. Instead, here are the US cities where you need to be:

Cambridge (not job-losing Boston, mind you)
Portland
Atlanta
Montreal (close enough, we’ll count it)
Raleigh-Durham
Los Angeles
and…
Orlando

Florida’s next book will explore the connection between people and places, says BusinessWeek.
