Field Museum Latest to be Hit by the Gloomy Economy

We reported a while back that corporate cutbacks were going to wind up trickling down into museum endowments and so it is, as bigger and bigger museums are suddenly finding themselves with very tightened purse strings. The latest to add to the growing list is Chicago’s Field Museum, which has just revealed that it will be forced to operate this year with thirty percent less funding, meaning fewer exhibits and more layoffs are surely right around the corner.
