Esquire Nets 100,000 iPhone App Downloads

Hearst’s Esquire has sold 100,000 iPhone apps in the past half year, reports paidContent.

The 100,000 downloads are for the magazine’s free app, which in turn offers users the chance to buy digital versions of each issue at $2.99 a pop. From there, Esquire offers a pay scale that rewards readers for paying for more issues at a time: $9.99 for 11 additional issues, $6.99 for five, etc.

paidContent says that Esquire editor David Granger isn’t talking about revenue figures right now, instead focusing on properly marketing the mobile app.
