Emmys Supplant Jersey Shore as Number One

It took the 62nd Emmy Awards to knock MTV’s Jersey Shore out of the weekly top spot in New York.

Showcasing the best in (TV) show for the past year, an estimated 1.4 million tuned in Sunday night on WNBC with a 7.1 rating, according to the Nielsen Company.

The latest episode of Jersey Shore had only 786,000 viewers and a 3.9 rating, but good enough for second place.

The Emmy Red Carpet on WNBC was ninth-highest (583,000/2.9).
