Thanks to Emerson Journalism Prof, Boston Lands Major Bragging Rights

For the first time, SPJ's Historic Sites in Journalism award goes to a city.

We’ve all heard the term Big Man on Campus. And right now, no one at Emerson College can touch journalism professor Emmanuel Paraschos (pictured) for that lofty designation.

It was Paraschos who nominated the city of Boston for the prestigious Historic Sites in Journalism Award, an honor first given out by the Society of Professional Journalists in 1942. When Boston was presented with the award last week at City Hall by the organization’s New England chapter, it became the first city to ever be so recognized.
