The National Magazine Awards (aka The Ellies) is returning to its daylight roots. After a decade as an evening event, the 2017 Ellies will be held as a luncheon on Feb. 7 at Cipriani Wall Street.
The Ellies were previously held during the day, but it was moved to the evening over the past 10 years in an effort to make the event feel even more special. Shifting the ceremony back to a luncheon—which definitely will cut costs—feels like a sign of the times.
