Elle Continues Search for Creative Director

The search for Elle’s new creative director is not going so well. Joe Zee left the magazine over a month ago and since then, a couple well qualified people have turned Elle down.

According to WWD, Robbie Myers, Elle’s editor, has asked T, The New York Times Style Magazine’s creative director Patrick Li, as well as David Sebbah (a former T staffer) to fill the void left by Zee, and both declined.

With Li and Sebbah out of the running, who’s left? Alex Gonzalez. Gonzalez is currently Marie Claire’s artistic director and Town & Country’s design director. If Gonzalez takes the role of Elle’s creative director, Myers would ask Gonzalez to drop Marie Claire, because she views it as a competitor.
