Edmund Andrews Joins National Journal Group

National Journal Group has hired Edmund Andrews as managing editor for economics, taxes, and budget.

Andrews had a distinguished career at The New York Times, serving from 1992 to 2009 as an economic correspondent. He is currently senior Washington correspondent for the Fiscal Times

“Ed Andrews has distinguished himself with a unique talent for injecting insight and clarity into the murkiest of economic waters,” said National Journal Group editor-in-chief Ron Fournier. “As we go through historic economic changes, Ed’s abilities and experience will be critical to both our financial reporting team and to our audience.”

While at The New York Times, Andrews covered some of the events that shaped the past two decades: emergence of capitalism in central Europe and Russia, the dot-come bubble and burst, and the mortgage meltdown.
