Gannett Co. is moving some of its leaders around. Karen Crotchfelt was named publisher and president of Star Media in Indianapolis. (Star Media is a Gannett property and the umbrella company for the Indianapolis Star and IndyStar.com.)
Crotchfelt was most recently senior vice president for sales and strategy at Republic Media, another Gannett property, which publishes the Arizona Republic.
She’s replacing Michael G. Kane, who is becoming president of Gannett’s East Group, which includes news properties in Delaware, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Virginia.
Crotchfelt was named marketing executive of the year for Gannett’s U.S.
