Denver Post Lays Off 40; Plans 160 More Job Cuts

The business side of the Denver Post laid off 40 employees Friday as the first part of a 200-employee reduction, the Denver Business Journal reports.

The newsroom was not affected, but the remaining 160 layoffs “will be made across departments and will include union- and non-union-covered employees,” the Post said.

The cuts, the Post said on Friday, are “partly an effort to resize the work force after the closure of the Rocky Mountain News in February.”

We don’t get it.
