Daniel Libeskind Receives AIANY Medal of Honor

Among the items on the agenda at Tuesday’s (144th!) annual meeting of the American Institute of Architects’ New York chapter was bestowing its medal of honor on Daniel Libeskind. The architect and designer received the organization’s highest tribute in recognition of his achievement in developing the World Trade Center master plan, among other projects worldwide. A statement issued by AIANY described Libeskind’s buildings as “address[ing] the cultural context of their communities while inspiring new understanding of the importance of design to go beyond the expected.”
