Daniel Libeskind Designs a Mall (but at least it's kind of nice looking)

If there’s a top secret manual circulating among the world’s very few starchitects in their bunker located under the sea, we imagine that there’s a section included that says, “If Frank Gehry did it, then go right ahead.” Such a thing must have been read by Daniel Libeskind, as his first mall, the Westside Shopping and Leisure Center, is set to open in October. Yes, a mall. And while it certainly looks far more interesting and mentally demanding than, say Old Orchard here in Chicago, or the behemoth of Scottsdale Fashion Square in our old home town, it’s still a mall, what’s possibly the most intentionally boring type of architecture in all the world, maybe second only to suburban office parks.
