Daily Breeze Columnist Gets the Obituary He Never Wanted
There are a lot of wonderful quotes in Larry Altman and Douglas Morino’s tribute to Daily Breeze colleague John Bogert, who passed away over the weekend at age 63 after a battle with cancer. But the comment that stands out is this one:
This obituary, daughter Rachael said, would not have thrilled him. Bogert didn’t much like it when reporters wrote sappy obituaries and portrayed the deceased as “saintly.” He wanted his own obituary, she said, to be honest.
