Current Media Cuts 80, Shifts Away From Short-Form Programming

Current Media is changing the way it does business: fewer in-house vids, and more longer shows acquired from the outside.

As a result of the changes, 80 people—about a quarter of the company’s staff—are being let go today from the company’s offices in London, New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

These are not cost-cutting measures, though, COO Joanna Drake Earl told our colleagues at BayNewser. They’re part of new CEO Mark Rosenthal’s change in strategy.

Fine, we’re happy that the company (says it) is still strong.
